Guyana’s Arian Dahlia Richmond has brought immense pride to the nation, securing the prestigious title of Miss Global International 2024. The coronation ceremony, held at the Hotel Indigo in the Cayman Islands on October 13, saw Richmond emerge as the ultimate winner, outshining 18 other contestants from across the globe. She was followed by Selena Grant of Turks & Caicos, who claimed First Runner-Up, and Caitlin Tyson from the Cayman Islands, who took Second Runner-Up.

Arian’s victory was as a result of her dominant performance from the moment she arrived in the Cayman Islands. In addition to the coveted title, she garnered an impressive list of awards, including Best Interview, Best National Costume (designed by Guyanese designer Roberto Teekah), Best Evening Gown (designed by Guyanese designer Quinton Pearson of House of Pearson), Best Talent, People’s Choice Award, Best Smile, and Miss Community Service, the latter being awarded by the judges

Arian Richmond, known for her advocacy for youth development, captivated the audience during the final question of the competition. In response to her final question “What aspect of the pageant did you prepare the most for?”, she revealed that her strongest preparation was for the interview segment, explaining, “We are powerhouses with a mission to invoke societal change, and in an interview, you get to peer into the depths of my soul and understand why I stand so proud representing not only Guyana but every person that stands behind me. We have dreams and passions… I stand here representing the youth of Guyana as we move forward with this crown, and with God’s will, the crown represents what we need most – a young woman with a passion to create positive change.” Her calm and graceful demeanor, coupled with her eloquent response, drew immediate cheers from the crowd

Guyana’s participation in the Miss Global International Pageant has consistently resulted in excellence. In 2017, under previous franchise holders, Hashim Alli and his wife, Melicia Partab-Alli, Guyana’s Cynthia Dookie won the international title in Jamaica. In 2016, Poonam Singh earned First Runner-Up and secured the Best Talent award.

In 2023, the Miss Global International Guyana Pageant came under the leadership of Award-Winning Makeup Artist Reneé Chester, who assumed the role of National Director. Chester’s first year at the helm resulted in outstanding achievements, with Guyana’s representative, Lateefah Ford, securing a Top 5 spot while winning the Best Interview and Body Beautiful awards. Chester herself was awarded the Best Director award that same year.

Reflecting on Arian’s triumph, Chester shared her pride and confidence in Guyana’s continued success on the global stage. Chester’s passion and commitment to making a difference in pageantry has clearly paid off, as Guyana’s reputation in international competitions continues to grow stronger

With Arian Dahlia Richmond’s historic win and Renee Chester’s visionary leadership, Guyana can look forward to an exciting year ahead, full of promise and global impact.
