Majesty International, the official licensee of the Miss World franchise for Guyana, is inviting applicants for this year’s pageant.

In a statement, the organisation said, in alignment with the Beauty With a Purpose ethos, it is looking for young women who embody values such as compassion, social responsibility, purpose-driven action, and a commitment to positively impacting their communities.

In 2014, Rafieya Hussain’s outstanding contribution as a Beauty With a Purpose leader earned her the prestigious Beauty With a Purpose Award and a top 10 placement, making her the first Guyanese in over 40 years to achieve such recognition on the global Miss World stage. Her historic achievement set a new standard for Miss World Guyana, inspiring future participants to pursue similar excellence.

This year, the search aims to continue this legacy by identifying and empowering new Change Ambassadors who will proudly represent Guyana at Miss World 2024, the organisation stated.

Reflecting on the past decade, Miss World Guyana 2022-2023, Andrea King, highlighted the extraordinary achievements of the national winners, who collectively raised $60 million dollars.

The deadline for applicants is August 31.

Candidates will be assessed on their commitment to social causes, talent, communication and public speaking skills, fitness, marketing and media skills, teamwork, leadership abilities, and their capacity to consistently influence positive change.

Those who wish to apply can do so online at missworldguyana.gy/apply.
